What part is this?

    I was thinking that this was my oil pressure sender switch but obviously I was wrong. So can someone identify this part if possible? This is facing the firewall mid way on the block I guess.

    Hmm...driver or passenger side? What year/model?

    2 other forums mentioned that it was a knock sensor. It's on a 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Es, I believe it's closer to the driver side
