Argueing about what brand is better can be pretty heated. RP is expensive. It doesn't matter really what brand, as long as its a decent full synthetic.

How many different types of Synthetics do we have that we can pick up locally?

Amsoil, Royal Purple, Mobil 1, any others?

I have always gone for mobil 1.. the good old 5w-50 mmm , it loves the red line :D

Probably go the same with the new car.

lol at 5w-20... super thin. I think the manual recommends 10w-30 from memory.. even thats too thin for my tastes.

Be careful about trading out the Trans fluid. CVTs generally use a very special, specific formula because of the dynamics that happen within the trans as well as the differences in the mechanics between the CVT and a regular automatic. Double check the manual to verify you can use standard fluid first.
