thanks redline... i took a look at your car and i just have a couple questions since our cars are a fair bit alike, and i am also running 225/45ZR18. how much of a drop do you have on the front springs? do you ever have the tires rub the inside of the front fenders on a bump? do you have a problem with your camber in the front or did you get camber adjustments? did you get a four wheel alignment after the drop?

ok, thats all. i just need to know because i have s-techs going in next week (2.1" drop in the front) and i want to know if this is going to give me any rubbing or camber problems with our tire profile. you can answer me here or pm me if you want. thanks man... looking good.

dang, your car is similar to what i want to do to mines lol. but im pretty sure if you get a 1.5in+ drop its best to get a camber kit and most of the people i know with teins on their lancers got camber kits to prevent rubbing. if i could ask about your front charcoal color, did you use plasti-dip for it?

    Re: Project Lancer GT

thanks for the comments; to answer your questions, the offset of the rims is 43 and they just fit with the 225/45 tires and the drop that i have (1.7 f, 1.2 r). as for the grill, i used to be a professional painter and so i did it myself with alot of primer, 4 coats of matte charcoal, and 2 coats of clear ( i didn't want the shine the plasti-dip would have given). thanks again and don't forget to vote for rotm. cheers.

    Re: Project Lancer GT

i didn't have to roll the fenders and the tires only rub very slightly on a big dip... the 43 offset centered the wheels just perfectly (i only have about 1.5 mm of space on the inside. and if my car was any lower then i wouldn't have been able to run the set up i have. thanks for the props.

well i just blew some more money on the car; i just got my coilovers installed today and have my headlights on the way. i also debadged the rear. i'll post some pics in a couple weeks when the headlights are in and the summer wheels are back on and the coilovers are completely settled.

    Re: Project Lancer GT

well, the headlights i ordered turned out to be a faulty set so i had to reorder a new set. it's ok though because now i will get the backlighting color i really wanted. the summer wheels are back on and the coilovers have settled now, so i will put up some new pictures tomorrow so whoever is interested can see the new work (cf hood, coilovers, debadged rear, etc.).

love the grey out in the front...I was always pissed that I wasn't able to participate in the black-out due to having a black car.

Nice project, only a set of bigger wheels would look nice on this ride.

But keep up the good work 8)

    Re: Project Lancer GT

i actually bought a set of 20's second hand, but i like the chubbier tire so i put the 18's back on. i think the chubbier tire gives a more meaty look to the car. i want to build an angry looking car, if that makes sense, and i think the bigger wheels take away from the rugged appeal. i would actually love to have some really aggressive looking truck mags but that would require changing the hubs... or buying a truck.

thanks for all the comments everyone.
