its supposed to go over the base. You screw the pig tail wire into the antenna base and then adhere to car via 3M dbl sides tape gasket.

naw, these of course are the back doors. The front is the same but the factory silverish(on GTS) insert that above the black factory suede insert...

u can do it and I do it on hi end Bose setups. However for what the Lancer needs you should just use a standard Hi-Lo.
