i like it,how did they connect the cat to the pipe?did you have them weld a flange to the new pipe or did they just weld on the new pipe to the cat?is it faster
its all new piping from the catalytic converter back.. custom 2 1/2 inch piping I bought the muffler seperatly and they made the piping and the welded the muffler right on there. They also welded some hangers under the car to prevent shaking.. it doesnt shake at all.. id say its faster.. I raced another 08 lancer... we both had SRI but i had exhaust and he didnt.. he pulled on me the 1st time cause i messed up my shifting.. but i pulled on him by ATLEAST 2/ maybe 3 lengths.
That looks really good man! Where did you get it done and what was your total cost for everything? (Parts and labor)
Looks wicked man; I'd like to know how much that costed you too. You should put them pics in IMG tags, it'll be much easier to see.
I guess im the only one that dont like it. Looks like a cheap muffler you get on ebay and the pipping/welding is not all that great. Maybe if the used Flages instead of welding everything together it would look nice, but that muffler has to go and all the welding makes the pipping look ugly. make sure you getting good air flow, cuz when people just make an exhaust they think its just a bent pipe and muffler, when really the bends make the air flow correct thus if the bends are not correct; this could be hurting your car instead of making it perform better. just some helpfull advice.
How do I "make sure" im getting good/better air flow than before? EDIT: Def NOT a cheao muffler bro. I got it at NOPI Nationals, It's a Volt Exhaust. http://www.supremeperformance.com/ thats their site.
the only way to check is to dyno your car before and after you install the exhaust. and i never heard of your exhaust before and doesnt matter where you buy anything from, still can be cheap. just put it this way, you get what you pay for. but hey, if you like it and it works for you....who cares what i or anybody else think, its just my opinion.
Your original post says "...its was 100 for the custom piping to be done... " To me that means after you bought the parts at one cost, they put it together at another cost, then installed it at 3rd cost. I was asking how much for everything, but I guess now you're saying it was $100 for everything.
yea bro, i bought the muffler at NOPI for 60 dollars (whole sale price) then i went to a muffler shop and said i want a custom cat back.. with this muffler... so they made the custom cat back and welded the muffler on there for 100 dollars... so its 160 for everything including the cost of the muffler... still beats RRM and looks a hella lot better too... im pretty sure I get more gains out of this exhaust them the RRM exhaust... im gonna get a dyn done ASAP... money is tight right now though. hey now we gotta stop all the lancer on lancer violence here fellas....we gotta stick together.....killhonda......hahaha
Not a bad price, what state do you live in anyways because in FL no exhaust shop would do it for that cheap. Here is some 411 info on press bent vs mandrel bent tubing: Ive done an exhaust on the new evo x and the tubing was mandrel bent from the factory. WHen you take a 3" exhaust and use a regular muffle shop machine to bend it, it goes down to 2.4" at the bend. If you have a 2.5" press bent pipe on your car, chances are that the bends are smaller then your stock piping. Here is a picture so you can see the difference. The upper bend I did on my mandrel bender, the lower bend I did on my press bent machine: If you guys are intrested, i can make a full 2.5" mandrel bent system as a bolt on?
