Has anyone seen this? http://www.caradvice.com.au/6445/2008-m ... ancer-vrx/ Wondering if it is the same as the GTS? The grill is different though, its black instead of chrome
Yes, as KRU said, this is the European version of the U.S.' GTS. Same car save for two things. 1) It has a different name/badging 2) The U.K. version is setup with the driver on the right like in Japan because they drive on the opposite side of the road as us. I am really pushing to trying to save up this holiday season working overtime at Best Buy now that I just got promoted and a raise again to see if I can order the U.K. variants that will come out summer of next year. That way I can get the right hand side (closer to JDM) with the better powertrain and without as big of a hassle to get it past importing procedures as stuff from Europe seems to closer relate to the U.S. model, or so says our government. I think I am really gonna push for the JDM look and feel if I can afford it. Bill
I originally was gonna go this route, but for some reason the U.S. goverment is a lot more leanant for importing from Europe, especially the U.K., than from Japan. JDM models seem to need so much more paperwork, processing and money than there European counter parts and with both being the same save for the badging which can be removed or replaced, I would just rather not have to fight the headache. Bill
Yeah it's the same alright as bras said.... but we have to pay over USD$25000 for it!!! You guy's have got it good in the states! Which is why I'm getting an ES model (aka DE in the states) and modding it, as it's cheaper like that. The ES is around USD$18000 here in Australia (same as GTS in states), yeah we love our car taxes. :x
I hear ya Micky I pay 17 % sales tax here in Halifax Canada and i figured why have all the extras when you know youll be getting better ones. Also i just might trade her in when the EVO X comes out in Jan. I've seen some inside pics of the new girl in Car and Driver and she looks sweet. The steering wheel even looks better, lol. But i know its sad that location can add thousands to the cost. But the good thing is she looks like your version has more horses than ours. So i hope that makes you feel just a bit better.
Yes we already have rough idea on pricing of the EVO X here... it will be around 2% higher than the current EVO... which will make it around AUD$58000 when it get's here.... yeah, I bet that's more than what you guy's will be paying
