Well I've been around on here (and 9glancer's and project lancer) for a couple years now, haven't really spoke much because I wasn't sure whether or not I was going to keep my car. I have a 2008 Apex Silver Lancer ES 5-Speed.

After a lot of thinking ( and a healthy bonus ) Ive decided to keep my lancer, and really make it mine. So, did a little spending over the last week.

    Twm Shortshifter
    Tsudo Axel-back exhaust
Ralliart Tails ( love black on silver )
Black grille piece ( not a fan of chrome )
Lancer Evo 5-speed shift knob ( Ive looked all over, and this is the only one I like. )
Picked up an apex silver stock evo x hood from ebay
17" Hyperblack mesh rims with chrome lip. ( Someone owed me money, thought these would be a good repayment otherwise I would have gotten 18's, still might)

    And the RRM turbo kit!

I got a confirmation/information gathering call from them today, just wanting to know more about my car and to give me a time frame on when to expect it. And was told to expect another call on Monday (from Brian) I believe.

I may get an aftermarket front bumper and fenders, but I think i may just end up going with a simple lip kit, nothing to flashy, but a lil more aggressive.
And I'll be getting coilovers soon as well, and upgrading the brakes.

Thinking a used set of brembos off of a wrecked/donor evo x would be a nice addition. Need to do some reading on converting my rear drums to disk, whether or not ES master cylinder has the right pressure to run the the evo brembos, changing the hub if needed, running new brake lines, all that.

Anyway, big things comin, ill post pics as parts start arriving and getting installed.

Any advice/info/any of that anyone has to offer, feel free to share. Im really interested in hearing from anyone that already has/had the rrm turbo kit, especially if theyve installed it themselves. Or anyone thats gone turbo and has some advice/experience to share.

I'll post more as i can!

Thanks, I'll get pics up as I can. Parts start arriving tomorrow. It's a blizzard out there pretty much right now. So part installs might be a little slow with how cold it is out there. But I'll keep everyone informed. I'm still deciding what I want to do to replace my damaged front bumper and fenders too.

I do have some advice for you. Since you are going with a turbo kit, get yourself the following:
    - Nice rubber to go on the tires
    - clutch! This is a must to hold the newly added power (even though RRM may tell you differently)
    - brake upgrade, do not bother with the EVO X brembos. get yourself some nice pads and rotors and look for a replacement for the rear drums.
    - suspension, rear swaybar #1 (easy install), front swaybar #2 (PITA to install)
    - custom midpipe, once you turbo the stock exhaust will act as a bottleneck. To get all the power out of it, use that axle-back you got and go to a custom shop and have them fab a mid pipe for you. You will notice a huge difference!!!

    Re: Grizbone's Progress Thread

I agree with most of that. And appreciate the advice. I guess I should have posted future plans for purchases too.
-True on the rubber, already have spring/summer voxx rims with brand new falkens on them, should cover the grip.
-Clutch I had thought of. I will pick up along the way, don't see a need to replace it immediately, especially while im breaking everything in an taking it slow for a bit. But ill pick up a stage 2 or 3 and have it handy when the time comes.
-Brakes, I dont think im going to "not bother" with the brembo's. If I can get them for a decent price or from a donor car not really seeing a negative with going with the big stuff, but, im also looking into just doing a conversion from a gts/es. Depends on whats available, and what i find out.
-Suspension, I agree, definitely plan on adding sway bars, along with the coilovers and strut brace.
-Midpipe I definitely agree with too. Already have an exhaust shop lined up to do it once I get the turbo up and running.

    Re: Grizbone's Progress Thread

Thanks I appreciate it, hood showed up today hopefully it didnt get damaged in shipping...But assuming is well. Hood won't be put on for a month or so, still waiting to find a front bumper and fenders and its still winter here. Don't care if I accidentally damage the stock hood, but Ill be pissed if something happens to the evo hood.

I can take some pics of the exhaust lol and I'll take some pics of the hood when I check it out. (Im not at home right now.) I can even take pics of my rims, but they are on another car right now lol.

Well, short shifter and evo shift knob installed.

Then the evo x hood came.......damaged.

Filing a claim with ups, if that doesn't work, ebay protection, if that doesnt work, paypal protection.

    Lil pissed.

Yea, it sucks, but at least its something repairable. Just sucks I have to deal with it. I filed a UPS claim and everything and hopefully things will fall my way. I bought the hood off ebay though, so theirs also ebay buyers protection as well.

Also got my Black Ralliart Taillights Monday, might put those on today, and my Black (non chrome) grill and Side Mount License plate holder, but those 2 wont go on until I find a new front bumper.

Good luck with the install, it really is not that hard to do. Especially with a lot of reading, equipment and reading. I know someone who has the RRM kit and is doing the same amount of hp/tq as the RA minus the three wheels moving and he is pushing only 9. Although he drives it like a biitch, it has been good to him so far.
