Hello, I have a basic 2009 Lancer DE. It came with power windows but no powerlocks. Recently my friend made me a present by installing a good alarm system on it. There are no power lock actuators and I still have to use a key. I would like to install aftermarket power actuators. Any comments and suggestions will be appreciated. My suspicion is that because the doors already have power windows, the car might be prewired for the powerlocks and I would not have to pull the wires. I opened the panel, there are some wires coming to the power window console, but without the wiring diagram there is no telling which goes where. Also are there aftermarket keyless systems designed for cable link door locks? Thank you!
when i had aftermarket power locks install in my honda. the installer told me that they usually only last for 3-5 years. i would say try to do what lancer2quick said first.
