If I go out on a backroad somewhere to test my car, I think I am about as safe as any track and no more likely to harm innocent people than if were on a track. At no time has anything in this thread suggested street racing. I am not street racing, I am testing and learning.

I have been driving for 22 years, which means I know how to use the brakes (by the way you can test your 60 to 0 with this thing too.) when a there are bystanders. In my 22 years of driving I have only had one high speed accident when I was 17, again on an empty road so no one else was involved.

Furthermore I fully intend to use this when run my car at the Autocross (an SCCA event) next month. It will provide valuable data on how I and my car are handling in the turns by providing Cornering G-force information.

I was not born yesterday and I am neither stupid nor foolish. This is not a preaching forum it is a tuner forum, we tune we test, or in my case I test then tune then test. So save your preaching for Sunday school.

One, you just proved you obviously didnt know how to use the breaks.
Two, you arent just as safe as at the track. There are a number of reasons why, but the obvious one that I will point out is that when you forget how to use the brakes again and hit that tree, or cow, or martian, there isnt going to be anyone around to help.

Two, you are street racing. Whether you are trying to beat another car, or beat your previous time. If you are doing it on the street, its street racing. Obviously your 22 years of driving has taught you you nothing.

You may not have been born yesterday, but you are stupid. Yes this is a tuner forum. You tune at a shop, you test at the track. Its as simple as that.

By the way, you arent tuning. You are just beating the piss out of your car and then trying to beat the piss out of it a little faster.

Okay this is ridiculous but I'll bite.
1 I do now how to use the brakes (and I can spell it too!). It is simply a matter of knowing when the brakes need to be used. 2. Whether I hit a tree or a wall at the race track the results are going to be pretty much the same, unless you gotta a full flegded rollcage and 6pt safety harness it is going to hurt. And the car is fucked either way.

Your point about street racing was your third point not your second since your second point was about the tree. ( and you have the nerve to call me stupid, at least I can spell and list my points by the correct number)
So number 3 if you view it as street racing I'll give you that, I don't agree but I can agree to disagree.

    4. This quote "By the way, you arent tuning. You are just beating the piss out of your car and then trying to beat the piss out of it a little faster. Makes not a damn bit of sense. What is the point of spending hundreds of dollars tuning a car if you don't put it to the test. Whether on the street or on the track, if it gets tore up it is tore up end of story.

    5. This thread was never about street racing, it was about an inexpensive item that can help you improve both the performance of the car and skill of the driver, no body mentioned street racing until the mother and the preacher showed up.

And last of all, you don't know me, you don't know anything about me. I am not stupid and I know more about driving and car control than you'll ever dream of (or maybe not I don't know you either so I don't know your experience) but don't even pretend you know mine.

I added this thread because I thought there were tuners who might like to know about it. I did not join this little circle to be preached to. So back the fuck off.

lmao. holy shit guys it's just a timer.

Not like he bought a sticker saying "race me"

that's a cool product but can i ask if you're 5-speed or CVT? The only reason i ask is because you said your 1st run was about a FULL second off from the 2nd-run when you went 0-60. A second's alot.

Hope it does everything they advertised it would 8)

5 speed, my first run I spun the tires and hit the rev-limiter before shifting to 3rd. That would account for it. I have made 5 more runs and none are as good as that second run and one was worse than the first run.

    And Thanks

This is why I now frown upon this community. disgust

You guys always turn something simple, into a giant close minded debate on something stupid, then make yourself look like a complete and total asshole. Bravo~

Steve never invites me anywhere, I say I may go places, but then stupid things come up and I'm not able to go.

Plus I loved the lancer, it just happens to be bad luck in my opinion so I'm moving on to something else.... like my bucket corolla :D

Yeah I haven't been to impressed with the stock tires but I still can't afford new ones and I would like to try and wait until I can get new rims, I want to upgrade to 19" x 8.5" or 9.5".

I found out that you can force the run timer for 30 seconds instead of stopping at the 1/4 mile. So on my way home from work I made a detour to try it out. Oh I also changed the rollout from the default 12" to 16" which allowed for a little tire spin. I got a 0-60 - 7.8 seconds and top speed of 112 at the end of 30 seconds. I can't remember what the 1/4 mile was though I will have to look at it tomorrow.

well i got my Gtimer last week and ive been tweaking it to the lancer(curb weight,1/4 roll resistance, mechanical resistance)i was able to run a 16.2 @ 85.1mph after my 10th run,lol by my 2nd and 3rd runs i ran 16.45,16.40..All I have is a pulley on my car now.so im working on getting my launches right so to get the best time. Its alot harder to launch right everytime, plus i was testing where itd be best to launch and not have as much wheelspin and take off.humidity was down the road was flat with a little pitch incline, its perfect today to do it.other days like yesterday which was crap itd be little slower.im hoping to get it down to 15.9,thats my goal. :D
