First of all: Azenis + rain = bad.

I am driving down the 55 freeway at about 50 MPH because anything faster and the tires hydroplane. Everyone is zooming by me at 70+ MPH. Wow big suprise there.

Up ahead suddenly, I see a Civic sitting sideways in the middle of the freeway. I slow down as I come up to it and put on my hazards, because there are a SHIT TON of cars behind me. As I do this, 3 SUVs doing probably around 80, head DIRECTLY at the Civic and I am thinking in my head "Oh shit I am going to watch someone die from a car accident" but luckly all 3 SUVs swerve at the last moment....at which point I said to myself "I am in more danger being safe about this, I am outta here" and I gunned it past the Civic as lots more traffic was on the way.

Civic going too fast in the rain = spin out.

SUV going too fast in the rain = not seeing spun out car on the freeway until its almost too late.

When will people learn that rain = slow down?

Yeah I drove about 25 MPH through the pass because of the fog  All you ever hear about are those 100 car pileups because everyone keeps speeding through the fog and cant see the accident until they are a part of it.

I am glad I live in a not so congested area with wide roads.

I went down to San Diego during the raining weekdays and boy was it hell. It took me nearly 5 hours just to get there. There was a wreck where the 15 and 215 meet. Another one right before going through the mountains where the roads were closed. And one last one on the 163 in San Diego.

Sunday on the 605 between carson and south st. there was a really bad accident. Involved 5 cars, a jeep that was riding on its brake rotors because the wheels flew off and a civic spun out facing opposite direction. The accident looked really bad, im unsure if there were any fatalities

its prettty bad up here, Figueroa Mountain Road's been closed for about 4-5 days!! the rain caused tons of mud slides in the canyon roads!! good thing we had that meet when we did! on top of that its snowing over there!! i bet that makes for some fun rallying!

Well what do you expect when most drivers in the southwest do not see a lot of rain. They never learn how to drive in it. And when you try to slow down and be careful, some nut comes by and wipes you out.

It happens here too, and its even worse since all those CA people moved here

You just have to pay attention to everyone around you, its not easy, but it can keep you out of trouble.

We had major rain here today and im my way from work you couldnt see nothing which sucks since the roads are all dark and crap an out of nowhere. i see a car closing in on me from behind.and here i am going 45 in a 55 cause im trying to play it safe so he passes me and i see its a civic hatch at this point he is flying by me. i figure if he doesnt slow down his going to lose it and he did spun out a few times. so i drive by him and im guessing his ok he didnt hit anything which is good never really seen a car spin like that though
