Hello everyone. I am the proud owner of a 04 Lancer ES. I bought this car brand new in Feb of 04. ( Pretty cool to be the only owner and see little things you did to it over the years. My door has a small slick spot where I always put my elbow. ) Since she has been my daily driver for 10 years. I have loved every mile. She has been a fantastic car. I have always took good care of her, keeping her completely stock ( Engine wise aside from NGK spark plugs and wire set ). Always used Mobil full syn and she purrs like a kitten and quiet even with 135,000 on her. Mods include 17" Enkei's which I bought new also 10 years ago. Also has a Carbon fiber hood and drilled and vented rotors. Here are a few pics. Not bad for a 10 yr old car huh? I have a few questions about a couple of things I would like to get done, but will post in the appropriate sections.
The Car looks good. It's been a while since I have seen a new member pop by with an older generation Lancer. Welcome!
Thanks, I think you are the same gentleman that posted over at EVOM forums also. I always liked this style of Lancer, I held off a year in 03 for them to get past that chrome front grille design. I am going to buy a new Lancer GT next year and make this my project car.
Possibly, I'm on that forum also. Lancers are great cars in my experience. I don't think I would choose any other model.
Yep, I have a set of these coming in the mail as we speak... http://www.ebay.com/itm/TEIN-S-TECH...ancer|Submodel:ES&hash=item3cbd282aae&vxp=mtr 1.2 in front .9 in the back.
Yep with the Tein Springs. They are on there way as we speak. I got the SKE06-AUB00 which are 1.2 in the front and .9 in the rear. I don't want to slam her.
My only concern would be pairing the stockers/kyb gr2s with the lowering springs. I'm in two minds since I'm also considering the Tein Street Basis
That's probably right. Well...when you lower it let's see some pics & let's know how you like the drop.
Got some more stuff done, here is a quick pic of the upgraded interior. EVO 8 wheel and Gauge Cluster. Much better.
Nice.....I like. Where did you source the parts? I have been searching Ebay for a good deal on that set (steering wheel & cluster)
I got both off of Craigslist in Atlanta. The cluster was almost dead on my mileage. Got both for $200. I am trying to talk the guy into letting me snag the seats also. They are beautiful Black leather and would look fantastic in my ride. I like it also that it is from the MR which doesn't have the Traction control stuff in the RPM gauge. Also it says Lancer instead of evolution. It was perfect plug and play. I did both in about 45 mins. All you have to do is take out the ABS light bulb since the lower tier lancers do not have ABS. Also painted my wheels, got some exhaust ( sounds freaking awesome ) Strut tower brace, new Tie rod ends, and front motor mount, Radiator and thermostat. Had to do all this before the springs go on.
Nice! Should be coming along nicely. You should feel the difference. I think those upgrades would definitely be worth it. What color did you use on the wheels. Any pics? Also, what brand strut tower brace did you get? I have a bunch of parts laying around including maintenance stuff but have not been motivated enough (for lack of a better word) to get everything on the car. Hopefully, this thread is a boost for me lol!
Got a few pics of my car. It's been raining here, so it's a little dirty. The rims and stripes actually look really nice in person. Also added my RC ( EVO 7 ) painted up like my 1:1.
Also here are the shot of the strut tower bar. It is a ebay item, so the fit sucked. I actually cut the brackets of and brought them down 2.5" and re welded them for a perfect fit.
Still looking good. You made some progress and that matters. You really scored with that evo steering wheel and cluster.
Not planning on doing much more to it. It is my DD. Just picked up a new play/project car. 1991 Galant VR-4
