P0138 code.

    Ok I have 03 lancer oz 2.0 5 speed. I got this code a couple of weeks ago P0138 and got a bank 1 sensor 2 O2 sensor. When I went to go replace the sensor I noticed that the car had a complete aftermarket exhaust. The O2 sensor wires were longer on the old O2 sensor( due to the cat being farther back then the original) then the new one. I cut the wires one by one and connected them one by one, black to black gray to gray and white to white. I went to autozone and had the light erased. After a month the check engine light came back on with the same code after a big storm. Any suggestions???

    Its actually the front catalytic convertor. The code pops up because it the rear reads differently than the front.

    And just because you get it erased, doesn't mean it's gone for good.

    Well the exhaust only has one cat. What can I do to get the check engine light off so I can pass inspection?
