I'm pretty sure there's a few that exist still.

What mods have you done or plan on doing? I saw an old thread on another site of an 04 Sportback getting turbo'd and am interested in doing the same.

I've done cai, headers, and cat back exhaust. But I took off the cat back n put back the Oem exhaust, the headers are still are still on it tho. As far as engine mods go I'm not to big on that at the moment. My main focus is on aesthetics.

How's your exhaust sound with stock cat-back and aftermarket header?

It's quiet when driving regular but when you step on the gas all you hear is the engine accelerating very loudly.

I recently wrote this up for Ultimate Racing:

The fitment on my '04 Sportback Ralliart went without difficulties, it was literally made to bolt in. The length could have been about two inches longer for the Sportback. It is listed by Ultimate Racing for the sedan.

Soon after Mitsubishi released the Sportback, I read in a Road N Track magazine ('04) how it boasted about the growl that the stock exhaust produced, amidst the "pea-shooter" tip it came with. Well, I can say, this system, by Ultimate Racing, keeps that gorgeous stock tone yet amplifies it X 3! I give it nearly five out of five stars, (****¾) only docking it a wee bit for too many db's, (inside the car) in the lower RPMs, which smooths out / lessens in the higher RPMs (only my opinion). The wagon length probably contributes to this considerably, where at idle it whispers.

I chose the 3 1/2" rolled tip and the midpipe resonator:

Sound clip? I see they have an axle back, I might look into getting that in the future. Looks like it would be quieter than your typical canister style mufflers

Curious, why'd you take off the catback yet leave the headers? I'm understanding that the stock header is a great piece of engineering in itself. Did the stock catback give you a better sound?

I created a sound clip but wasn't too satisfied with what I heard as opposed to what it really sounds like in person. Then again, that's probably true for most sound clips made with todays smart phones, so I'll put one together again and let you know.

Yeah that's usually the case but it would still be nice to get an idea of what it sounds like
